Sue Dion is a watercolorist whose works are vibrant, creative, interpretations of her surroundings. Her main areas of interest include floral still-lifes and landscapes. Born and raised in Massachusetts, the daughter of a wholesale florist, she draws on a lifetime of beautiful surroundings for her inspirations. Sue began painting several years ago as a decorative artist and has settled on watercolor as her medium of choice. Although initially attracted to this medium by its soft pastel hues, she has developed a reputation for achieving rich, deep color in her compositions. Sue currently teaches watercolor in her Uxbridge studio.
Sue has received numerous awards both in New England and in the Mid-west and was the recipient of the annual City Purchase Award for 1999 in Austin, MN and the 2006 purchase award for Hopedale Art in the Park. As a result, her paintings hang in the permanent collections of Austin City Hall and Milford Federal Savings. Sue's goals include becoming a signature member of the American and National Watercolor Societies. In the meantime she is a sought after art instructor and devotes much time to fulfilling her artistic dreams. You can also purchase Sue's artwork on this site.
